CF07 - Los Arcos - Viana - 18 km

Itinerary

Leaving Los Arcos, you will first cross the NA-129 and the bridge over the River Odrón. Then, you will follow a narrow paved path that goes up to the cemetery (you read this peculiar warning, “I was what you are, you will be what I am”). Soon after, this road turns into a soil path which runs parallel to the N-111, on its right. The path fades away in some occasions in the borders of the farming sites, but the village of Sansol is a reliable reference point since it is always visible along this stage.

In the first crossroads that you will find, you will have to turn right and cross a stream to gain access to a regional road, where you will go up to Sansol.

From Sansol you will cross the N-111 and descend a short and abrupt path to the River Linares bed. Then, you will cross the bridge over the river to arrive at Torres del Río. Ascending to this village, you will see the “Iglesia del Santo Sepulcro” (Church of the Sacred Sepulcher) on your right, and then you will keep going to the workers’ house. There, you will leave by a soil path that goes up the hillside to almost reach the N-111, running parallel on the right of the road.  After this, you will keep going next to the road, continuing on it soon before approaching “La Ermita de la Virgen del Poyo”. 150 m after the chapel, you will leave the N-111 turning right and following a soil path that, soon after, crosses the regional road towards Bargota.

After this crossing, the path goes down the “Barranco Mataburros” (a slope), being the N-11 on one side and a series of vineyards, olive groves and almond trees on the other side; that way you will get to the River Cornava bed. Crossing the bridge over the river, you will leave behind the abandoned village of Cornava and return to the N-111, advancing a stretch in parallel, and then crossing the road to its left side.

You will keep walking on the left side until finding a path which finally leads to the N-111 and runs towards Viana.
