CF17 - Frómista - Carrión de los Condes - 19,2 km
Itinerary
Right after leaving Frómista, the Way enters the road C-980, which goes straight on from Frómista to Carrión. From here, there are 3 km to Población de Campos, on the right side. Soon before arriving at the village, you can take a detour to visit San Miguel chapel, located on a meadow, next to a poplar grove.
From the chapel, you will cross the road and enter the village, going through the centre via Calle Francesa. On you left side, you will see Socorro chapel. Leaving the village you will have two options:
a) To cross the river Ucieza and take the road towards Revenga de Campos and Villarmentero de Campos.
b) To take a wide gravel road that goes parallel to the river course, on its right side, and leads to Villovieco. Leaving Villovieco, you will cross the river Ucieza and keep going on its left bank for 1 km. After this, if you want, you can enter Villarmentero de Campos, where the two paths join again.
From Villarmentero de Campos, you have two possibilities:
a) To keep going on the C-980 along 7 km towards Villarcázar de Sirga.
b) To go back to the river and follow it course on its left side, walking on a path across the forest. Next, you will arrive at Virgen del Río chapel, where you will take Arconada road to the left, heading to Villalcázar de Sirga.
From Villasirga to Carrión de los Condes you will walk for 5 km, being the shortest way the one following the C-980, and leaving it turning left on the entrance of Carrión. Once in the town, you will pass by St Clare’s Convent, Santa María Church and Santiago Church.
