CF23 - León - Villadangos del Páramo - 21,8 km

Itinerary

You will leave León from San Isidoro Basilica, following the streets Renueva and Suero de Quiñones to Hostal de San Marcos, then you will cross the bridge over the river Bernesga.

You will follow the trail of the N-120 to then pass by the railroad line. There, you will turn left to leave the road that makes a curve to the right, and will cross it again to continue walking through Trobajo del Camino. You will follow a street parallel to the road that finally leads to it again.

After this, you will abandon the road turning left as a shortcut to avoid the great curve it makes while ascending towards Virgen del Camino. Before the curve ends, you will cross the road N-120 again and take a path on the right, which ascends to a hill where you will find the remains of a “cruceiro”. From here, you will keep going parallel to the road on the right until you get to Virgen del Camino Sanctuary.

Leaving the Sanctuary, you will follow the N-120 and then turn left to take a path that borders the local cemetery and that goes on parallel to the road a long way, going across the arid moor towards the descent to the valley of Fruévano stream, where you will get to the road again soon before the cross with A-66 highway to Oviedo. You will continue on the road for 2 km until you arrive at Valverde de la Virgen, where the streams of Oncina and Raposeras cross.

One km ahead, when you enter San Miguel del Camino, you will leave the road turning right and crossing the village through a parallel street. Leaving this village, you will cross the road to continue parallel to it for 8 km, towards Villadangos del Páramo. Along this stretch, the way fades sometimes and gets closer to the road, until you cross Valdecelada stream and enter the village.
