CF26 - Rabanal del Camino - Molinaseca - 24,7 km

Itinerary

You will leave Rabanal taking a path on the right of the LE-142. 1 km after, you will go back on the road and continue ascending to Monte Irago, surrounded by oaks and plentiful broom and heathers. On km 27,5, you will leave the road turning to the left to go through Foncebadón abandoned ruins and then you will keep going leaving the ruins and a fountain on the right.

From here, the way makes a great curve to border the hill, with the road on the right side. Once you get to see Cruz de Ferro (the Iron Cross) you will go on the LE-142, which leads to the great platform where you can find the cross and Santiago’s chapel.

2,5 km on following the road you will get to Manjarín ruins. On the km 36, you will see for the first time a great landscape formed by the western slope of Monte Irago. On the km 37,5, the way leaves the road turning to the right and comes back to it 1 km after this. On the km 39, you will leave the road again, this time, turning to the left.

After this, you will descend to an open field, going through it and continuing on the LE-142. Soon before arriving Riego de Ambrós, you will leave the road and follow a path. Once you arrive at the village, you will go to the main square, turn right and descend to the beautiful valley of Prado Mangas stream, which you will have to cross and briefly follow its course until you find the LE-142, entering it on the km 11.

Some metres ahead, you will leave it turning to the right and descending to the River Pretadura valley. After this, you will go up on the right, between black poplars and rockroses, to a promontory. You will border it and go down again to the LE-142 soon before arriving at Molinaseca, where the town centre is reached crossing the bridge over the river Meruelo.
