You will leave Padrón through Rúa Bordel and soon you will find the ancient collegiate church of Iria Flavia. There you will also see the beautiful Adina Cemetery and the old tombs surrounding the temple. Next, you have the bust of Camilo José Cela (writer) and, in front of it, the canons’ houses, now Camilo José Cela Museum and Foundation. His tomb is in this cemetery, under an olive tree, next to the Way.
You will keep going through Iria passing by old houses, the train station and the house of the Cela-Trulock. Then, you will walk on the N-550 until the km 88, when you will take the medieval road to Romarís. You will pass by several villages (Romarís, Rúa, Rueiro, Cambelas, Enteportas, Tarrío, Vilar…) and will finally get to another sacred space, Esclavitude, which has a miraculous fountain and the Esclavitude Sanctuary (XVII-XVIII). 100 m ahead, you will see another beautiful church, Santa María de Cruces. The next village is Angueira de Suso, where you will arrive after descending and crossing the railroad. Then, you will get to Areal.
Leaving Areal, first on the paved road and then on a footpath, you will get to the N-550, walking on it for some metres to soon turn left heading towards Teo. Go up Rúa de Francos and you will see the pilgrims’ hostel and one of the most beautiful “cruceiros” in Galicia. Also, you can visit Castro Lupario, which is being reconstructed. Keep going on and cross Puente Pedreira, heading towards A Grela.
The landscape starts changing as there are few small villages and more modern houses. You will pass by Milladoiro and will get to the old path, surrounded by pine trees, towards Agro dos Monteiros.
You will leave behind the electric substation and then, on the top, you will see the city of Santiago. You will be 250 m high, on Agro dos Monteiros, so now you will start descending, passing by Santomil, Amanecida, the Clinical Hospital and Choupana, to finally enter Santiago.
Follow Calle Rosalía de Castro towards Porta Faxeira, and then keep going on Rúa dos Francos to finally arrive at Plaza de Obradoiro and the Cathedral.
